On August 18, 2014, the Europe bus tour quickly moved deeper into Italy!

Having visited Pisa earlier in the day, we spent the afternoon and evening in Florence (or, in Italian: Firenze):

We had only a little time to see a medieval city dominated not by skyscrapers but by one large cathedral (Santa Maria del Fiore):

Walking in the old town, I got to see the Florentine Arnolfo Tower (at the City Hall in Piazza della Signoria):

Early next morning, I captured this shot of Ponte Vecchio (a mall on a stone bridge!), standing on the Ponte alle Grazie bridge that crosses the River Arno:

Reflection

Florence is recommended for those with a passion for the Italian Renaissance. As a fan of a more futuristic “cyberpunk” aesthetic, I still had respect for what the city put out!
