2003 in Haiti (Labadee)

4th country - visiting a resort enclave of this notorious country

On August 25, 2003, the Navigator of the Seas cruise took me to Labadee, Haiti, resulting in the visit of my 4th unique country:

This made it my:

  • 3rd country in North America
  • 1st country on an island (shared with Dominican Republic)

Visit

Of course, it wasn't "real Haiti" in the sense that Labadee was a closed-off port owned by Royal Caribbean. However, I still consider this as having set foot on territory that belongs to Haiti.

For the most part, Labadee was just a day at the beach which could happen on any beach in the world.
